National City Mortgage was recently acquired by PNC Bank, a division of The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. What’s Being Done:
National City Mortgage offers the following assistance to qualified borrowers:
- Forbearance, which is a temporary reduction or suspension of payments for a specified period of time after which, another option must be agreed upon to bring the account current. This option may be available for individuals who know they will have a source of funds to bring the account current by a certain date.
- Repayment plans, which are agreements where homeowners would resume making regular monthly payments in addition to a portion of the past-due payments.
- Modifications, which can include a reduction to the interest rate, extension of the loan term, or adding delinquent interest to the unpaid balance.
- Partial claims, which are interest-free loans from your mortgage guarantor in order to make your account current.
